IT ethics; it covers moral, legal and social issues that must be followed in all processes from information systems to production.

Ethical issues are becoming increasingly important nowadays, where smart phones and information tools are an indispensable part of our lives. The implementation of ethical rules has become a necessity, including the establishment and use of information systems of businesses, the development and licensing of software needed by businesses. Ethical issues have gained importance not only in software, but also in hardware production and use processes in the field of use of unmanned aerial vehicles, Industry 4.0, big data, artificial intelligence and robotics.

In this track, we welcome articles from all fields related to IT Ethics from production to consumption, legal and social impact.

Biographies of the Chairs

Dr. Eşref Adalı

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Retired Faculty Member ;

Completing his undergraduate education in Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Electricity in 1971, Adali started to work as an assistant in the same faculty. In 1976, he worked as a doctor, as an associate professor in 1980 and as a professor in 1988. Apart from his duties at ITU, Adalı was a visiting researcher at Case Western Reserve University (USA) between 1977-1978, a visiting lecturer at Carleton University (Canada) between 1978-1979, and a visiting researcher at Akron University in 1985. served. Between 1990-1991, he worked on the establishment of the Informatics Group at Tübitak Marmara Research Center. During this time, Adalı was the responsible vice president of the Marmara Research Center’s Informatics Group. The first of Adalı’s academic studies is in the field of microprocessors and microprocessor based digital system design. His second interest is in Natural Language Processing. In addition to these two main areas of research, he has published two books on Information Ethics and Law, Information Security and Management. Another area of interest of Adalı is the analysis and design of information systems.

Zerrin AYVAZ REİS received her bachelor’s degree in Istanbul University, Astronomy and Space Sciences, her master’s degree in Istanbul University’s Quantitative Methods and her doctorate in Istanbul University Computer Science Engineering. In addition to many national and international articles on software engineering, database, computer assisted education, distance education, education of disabled people, ethics and artificial intelligence, there are also papers, books, in-book section studies. She is one of the founding members of the Ethics Association at the Academy. She is still a faculty member of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education. She also works at the Istanbul University Informatics Department.
